Simion Cernica is an artist who infuse his discourse with historical, social and cultural tropes. His work operates across various art forms and mediums—ranging from painting, photography, performance, video to installation and sculpture.

Cernica’s "artist statement" is written in the language of ‘kulturkritik’—a persistent, aestheticized refusal to let our society failures and alienations go unrecorded. His works are usually born from ‘punk-poetic’ tensions and a subversive stance.

While questioning our approved cultural perspectives, he aims to challenge the way we perceive our reality, cultural history, and how we advance our precarious humanity.
